Back to Lobby Card Certification
STATEMENT OF GUARANTEE: Subject to the limitations contained in this Statement of Guarantee and the Certification Notice below, CGC guarantees the authenticity of the lobby card contained in this protective CGC holder. A lobby card is considered authentic if it was printed for the purposes of promoting the movie or event it describes by or for the film studio / distributor / producer, at or near either the time of initial exhibition of the film or event or its official re-release, whichever is applicable.
CERTIFICATION NOTICE: The enclosed collectible is guaranteed to be authentic pursuant to the terms described above. For graded collectibles, the assigned grade represents our opinion, as grading is subjective. Clerical errors with respect to the description or grade of a collectible that would be readily noticed on inspection will be corrected at no charge. Certain collectibles may receive a "pedigree" designation at CGC's discretion and based on available information believed by CGC to be accurate.
The CGC holder is designed to be tamper-evident and has other security features to discourage fraudulent holder tampering. The CGC holder must be completely intact for the collectible to be considered an authentic certified CGC collectible.
Proper storage is essential to the preservation of a collectible. Extremes in light, temperature, moisture, vibration, temperature changes, other environmental hazards, and mishandling, such as folding or bending, can contribute to the deterioration of a collectible, even if it is sealed in a CGC holder. For maximum protection, CGC-certified collectibles should be stored in an immobile, dark, temperature and humidity controlled area.
Certification by CGC does not assure liquidity, assure universal acceptance of the CGC grading opinion, or eliminate the risks associated with a speculative and unregulated market. The CGC holder is designed to open in the event that removal of the enclosed collectible is desired. Opening the holder voids the CGC certification. To avoid damage to the collectible, extreme care in following the correct procedure must be exercised. CGC will not be responsible for damage that occurs to a collectible while not in CGC’s possession. Collectors who are not familiar with the holder opening procedure may contact an authorized CGC dealer or CGC Customer Service for assistance.
CGC guarantees this collectible has been inspected by a minimum of three graders. A restoration check has been performed on this collectible. Any detected restoration is noted on the label in general or specific terms. While the market determines the value of collectibles, some experts believe that restored collectibles have less value than unrestored collectibles of the same type and grade. A good faith effort is made to detect restoration, but CGC does not guarantee this process or results. If restoration is detected, most restored collectibles will be assigned a marked color-coded “restored” label by CGC. “Universal” marked and color-coded CGC-certified collectibles with no color touch or glue noted on the label have been examined for restoration, and none was found.
